Inspired by a recent thread on the main MEF site, I recently began setting up some of my old hi-fi gear. So far I have a Technics SL-5200 turntable with a Stanton L720EE cartridge, a Harman-Kardon MODEL A 300 integrated stereo amplifier, and a pair of ADVENT bookshelf speaker systems with no model name or number that I've been able to find.
I thought I had a CD changer I could use, a Teac PD-D850, but much to my disappointment it turned out to be inoperable; it just kind of sits there making feeble clicking sounds and then stops and displays an error code. Oh, well. My backup plan for playing CDs is an old Zenith DVC2550 DVD changer that I haven't used for video since before Blue-Ray became the current thing. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but it does power up, so I'm hopeful it will do the job as a CD player.
Now all I need is an FM stereo tuner and enough time to hook everything up and do some listening.
